Property Tax Terms and Conditions :
1. Property tax under Unit Area Method w.e.f. 01.04.2004 is based
on Self Assessment Scheme.
2. Tax payer is responsible for accuracy of all information of
the property material relevant for computation of Annual Value
like covered area, category, type, use, occupancy, age, rebate,
exemption, etc., and application of correct rate of tax.
3. The onus of correct tax payment is with the Tax Payer and
even if the software makes wrong calculations.
4. MCD make all possible efforts to keep site running and to
help make accurate calculations, still tax payer must make most
appropriate selection from drop down menu.
5. Provisions related to property tax, i.e., relevant extract of
DMC Act,1957 and DMC (Property Taxes) Bye-laws,2004 and
general information containing tax rates are available on the
website.
6. Special attention is drawn to Section 152A of the Act
providing for prosecution for willful furnishing of wrong
information.
